Emerson's essay is on Self-Reliance. Emerson's main idea for writing the essay was to get people to do what is true to them. To figure out what they want and go get it. Self-Reliance means self trust, he's saying to believe in yourself, ignore what other people have to say, and do you. Emerson thinks highly of his audience.
Emerson's idea was supported by diction to get the readers attention. He did this by using sophisticated words. He did not use big words to make the readers eel dumb. He used big words because that is just how he is. Emerson wants to make a point and by doing that he uses high vocabulary. For example he uses nonchalant instead of using calm in his essay
The tone in the essay is sincere. This is how Emerson wants to get to people through his essay. The essay is bold, courageous, inspiring! In the essay he says " Ne Te quaesiveris extra ". This means don't look outside o yourself. Look within. He's telling people to have trust in themselves.
This essay is also supported by syntax. The way he puts words is in a certain way. He places the words in a specific to express his point.
Yes I can agree and use Emerson's idea in real life. This is because it is true that you can not rely on anyone but yourself. You have to be independent because relying on someone else won't do you any good.
